Salesforce launches Einstein GPT

Share post:

Salesforce is planning on joining the ChatGPT hype train with several new updates predicated on the language model’s application to its CRM software estate. Salesforce follows Microsoft, Meta, and Google in making significant investments in generative AI this year.

It introduced Einstein GPT, which it claims is the world’s first generative AI customer relationship management (CRM) technology that delivers AI-created content at hyperscale across sales, service, marketing, commerce, and IT interaction.

According to the enterprise software firm, Einstein GPT will infuse Salesforce’s proprietary AI models with generative AI technology from an ecosystem of partners and real-time data from the Salesforce Data Cloud, which ingests, harmonizes, and unifies all of a company’s customer data.

Einstein GPT, which is billed as the world’s first generative AI CRM technology, combines Salesforce’s proprietary AI models with real-time data from Salesforce’s Data Cloud. Salesforce customers can then use that data to generate content within their Salesforce CRM by connecting it to OpenAI’s models or other generative AI models.

Customer data in the CRM enables marketers to communicate with their customers, and generative AI can help create personalized messages based on that data. For example, salespeople who use the tool will be able to generate personalized email responses or other personalized content in campaigns, potentially increasing response rates.

In addition, the company announced a collaboration with OpenAI, as a result of which a ChatGPT app (currently in beta) is available for Slack. Other “out-of-the-box” integrations between Salesforce tools and ChatGPT will be made as part of the partnership.
