Generative AI holds promise for marketers, finds Salesforce study

Over 1,000 marketing professionals from all sectors and sizes are exploring the practical uses of generative AI while simultaneously addressing safety issues, according to Salesforce research done as part of their Generative AI Snapshot Series.

51% of respondents are now employing generative AI, according to the study. 53% feel generative AI is a “game-changer,” and 60% believe it will redefine their profession. In fact, 51% of respondents are already utilizing or experimenting with generative AI in their work.

According to the findings, marketers are now using generative AI in the following ways: 57% are creating groups or segments for marketing campaigns, 55% are developing marketing campaigns and journey plans, 54% are personalizing messaging content, 53% are copy testing and experimentation, and 53% are building and optimizing SEO strategies.

Furthermore, respondents believe that AI will save them more than 5 hours per week, or more than a month per year, allowing them to focus on more important work. 71% believe generative AI would remove mundane chores, while allowing them to focus on strategic work, and 70% feel it will increase their productivity.
