Why You Should Not Update Your Chromebook Yet

Share post:

Chrome users have been advised to ignore various notifications asking them to update their software after the recently launched Chrome OS version 91.0.4472.147 update came with a bug that allegedly caused high CPU usage, which can slow Chromebook to a significantly low speed.

While the update was expected to come with expected bug fixes and security updates for the larger Chrome OS, users instead submitted bug reports and shared screenshots of their slowed-down Chromebooks.

The bug hasn’t affected all Chromebooks, with main reports coming from Grunt and Hatch devices.

Chromebook users should also avoid shutting down devices to avoid automatic updates.
