Twitter Experiments With Upvote and Downvote Buttons

Share post:

As part of its research “to understand the types of replies you find relevant,” Twitter announced that some Twitter users on iOS will see up and down votes on comments.

The feature uses thumbs or arrows to display voting results.

The company said the downvote would not represent a “dislike” button or affect the ranking of tweets.

It further explained that the feature will not be visible to other users.

As of now, it will be an experiment for some iOS users.

Some have pointed out the similarities to Reddit’s voting feature, including Reddit itself, which responded to Twitter’s tweet with a gif.
