Alitheon unveils AI powered FeaturePrint to detect counterfeits

Share post:

Alitheon, a Seattle-based technology firm, has created FeaturePrint, an AI-powered tool aimed to address the rising problem of counterfeit items. Alitheon claims that its cutting-edge program can reliably verify a product’s legitimacy from a single iPhone snapshot.

Alitheon claims that simply taking a single snapshot with an iPhone, its Optical AI software, FeaturePrint, can methodically evaluate and transform the detailed surface properties of actual goods into a “unique mathematical identity.”

Alitheon emphasizes the intrinsic uniqueness of each item, even within the same production line, underlining the fact that no two products are exactly same. This specific digital fingerprint enables FeaturePrint to easily distinguish authentic items from counterfeits.

To be clear, Alitheon stresses that the app does not use picture recognition to detect items. Instead, its FeaturePrint Optical AI program methodically examines images in order to convert minute surface characteristics into a separate mathematical representation.
