Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starship Flight Ends In Crash Landing

Share post:

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has suffered another failed test flight of its Startship 2 rocket, which burst into flames during a landing attempt yesterday, with the launch of this particular prototype – serial number 11 or SN11 – already delayed twice.

The unmanned prototype took off for its fourth major test flight yesterday morning in Boca Chica, Texas. Livestream of the launch froze as the rocket came to land, while dense fog hampered visibility of the landing.

SN8, SN9 and SN10 also ended in explosions. Despite these setbacks, Musk remains bullish about the next prototype, the SN15, which will be released in the coming days.

Musk’s spacecraft is one of two major projects SpaceX is developing with the Starlink satellite project.

The company is pinning its hopes on its rockets being able to carry cargo and crew to the moon, Mars and beyond.
